Install your scenery
Check the product edition and minimum simulator version before installing. Download the complete archive, close the simulator, and extract the package. Read its installation instructions before moving any folders.
X-Plane 12 and legacy X-Plane 11
- Use the package made for your X-Plane version.
- Copy the extracted scenery package folders into that installation’s
Custom Sceneryfolder. Keep each package’s folder structure intact. - Install any libraries required by the product. Use the simulator edition and minimum library version listed in the requirements.
- Follow the readme for the order of airport, mesh and orthophoto packages in
scenery_packs.ini. A package with a separate mesh may need more than one entry. - Start X-Plane and load the airport by its ICAO code. If something is missing, check the troubleshooting guide below.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and 2020
- Confirm whether you purchased the MSFS 2024 or MSFS 2020 edition. Check the product page for any compatibility notes.
- Locate the Community folder used by your installed simulator. Its location can vary with your installation.
- Copy the extracted add-on package folders into that Community folder, following the included readme. Avoid leaving the actual package inside an extra archive wrapper folder.
- Install any required library alongside the scenery, using the matching simulator edition.
- Restart the simulator and load the airport by its ICAO code.
Check required libraries
Libraries contain shared models and textures used by selected scenery packages. Check your airport’s requirements and install the matching library version or a supported newer version. The X-Plane and MSFS libraries are separate packages.
Library Dependency Packages and installation guide
CFSS Hay River (CYHY)
CYHY requires CFSS Library for X-Plane 12 version 1.0.7 or newer. No separate mesh files are included with CYHY. If using symbolic links, keep the actual airport and library packages together in the same external subfolder and link each package into Custom Scenery.
Update an existing installation
- Use the download instructions from the store where you bought the product.
- Check the release notes and required library version before installing.
- Close the simulator and back up the existing package and any personal changes.
- Follow the new package’s readme for replacement or update instructions. Avoid keeping two active versions of the same airport.
- Update the required library if needed, then restart the simulator and check the airport.

Common installation problems
Missing buildings, objects or textures
Check the required library edition and version, confirm that the entire archive extracted successfully, and check for an extra folder level around the scenery or library package. In X-Plane, include the relevant scenery error from Log.txt when contacting support.
Default scenery still appears or two airports overlap
Confirm that the package is installed and active. Check for another add-on covering the same airport. In X-Plane, review the package’s readme and scenery load order. Temporarily disable a conflicting airport add-on to help identify the cause.
The airport elevation or surrounding terrain looks wrong
Check whether the product includes a separate mesh or orthophoto component, and follow its installation instructions. Tell support which terrain, orthophoto and nearby airport add-ons you use.
The archive will not open
Check that the download finished and that you have enough free space to extract the package. If downloading again does not resolve it, contact support with the product name and the archive error message.
